• Cashew Chocolate Chip Energy Balls

I am all about easy snacks on the go that are nutrient packed, and these cashew chocolate chip balls are absolutely amazing! They are full of natural ingredients, health fats and protein and of course carbs with added fiber. That means net carbs guys, yay! I have been making energy balls for a few years now but this particular recipes I made for a networking event I did back in January. They were a huge hit. They didn't form quite as well as we liked but hey, sometimes you need a little more cashew butter. I've never tasted anything that had too much cashew butter. I also used the mini…

  • Sweat Log

My schedule has been so crazy busy and this past week was my third week at my new job. I got a new job at a diet office in a hospital and it is getting my even more fired up about nutrition. As a result my workouts have changed a little bit and have been put on the back burner. However, I have been consistently keeping track of everything because I feel like it holds me accountable. Even if no one ever reads this I still have my workouts documented so if I want to go back and reference them I can. This week's sweat log is actually a combination…

  • Mango Summer Salsa

Tell me, what is better than a super ripe mango?! Especially in Mexico or on a tropical island. When I made this salsa I imagined eating it on the beach somewhere with a bowl of fresh made guacamole and a few lime wedges. Right?! Delicious. In reality, when I thought of this recipe idea I was roaming through the grocery store without my significant other (he likes to sprint through the store, I am more of a marathon wanderer when it comes to food shopping, I love to spend my own sweet time there). I stumbled upon a few very ripe mango and had the idea. I love eating raw…

  • Sweat Log

This past week has been so crazy because I started a new job. Hence my late post. Yay! But with that my hours have been nuts and since I am still coaching at multiple places I've had less time and energy to workout on my own. Welcome to the real world Kenz. Here are my workouts from this week. Per usual I went steady and strong at the beginning of the week and then took my rest days towards the end of the week. Hopefully you can get some workout ideas from this! Monday: ATO Fitness HIIT Circuit. I only had 30 minutes to workout before a personal training client…

  • Green Delicious Smoothie

Alright! Time for another smoothie. And to be specific, a Green Delicious Smoothie. See what I did there? Not a red delicious but a green delicious (this smoothie has nothing to do with apples). Sometimes I try to be more clever and funny than I actually am. My Mom is the only one who thinks I am funny, thanks Mom. Anyways, I am continuing my smoothie kick because why not?!? I feel like when I want something sweet but know I shouldn't have ice cream a smoothie is a good substitute. It's cold and creamy and can satisfy that sweet tooth. I am always trying to find ways to sneak…

  • Sweat Log

Monday: Crossfit Broadway workout. 6 Min AMRAP: 12 calorie row and 7 Devils press 6 Min AMRAP: 10 chest to bar pull-ups (I did kipping pull-ups) and 18 wall balls (14lb ball) Repeat 2x. OUCH. This was a tough one, I was sweating balls by the time I was done. I made it 3 rounds the first and second time on the first AMRAP and then only 2 rounds on the second part both times. I ended up ripping my hands pretty bad and they started bleeding from hanging from the bar. Tuesday: Armbrust Pro Gym leg workout with a girlfriend. We did a leg workout that was similar to…

  • What I learned from 5 Bikini Competitions

I've spent a lot of time trying to decide how I wanted to write about my NPC Bikini fitness competitions. I have a lot of mixed emotions about my experience because each prep and show were extremely different. But I figured there is not better way to get started than to just begin writing- what am I waiting for, right? So I will take you through each of my shows, one by one and explain how they have shaped me into who I am today. It sounds cheesy, but I learned so much about myself from these experiences. At the time of my first show I was lightly immersed in…

  • Chocolate Peanut Butter Coconut Cups

So I first made these chocolate peanut butter coconut cups when I was reverse dieting from one of my fitness competitions. They satisfy the sweet tooth and you can make them in less than 5 minutes. Low carbohydrate and little to no sugar but they are still so delicious, I am into it. I found these great individual silicone baking cups and they work perfectly for a single serving size. They are also super easy to clean and you can toss them in the dishwasher and they are microwave safe which is a huge plus. FYI, one of my pet peeves is peanut butter with added sugar. I HATE IT.…

  • Natalie’s Orchard Island Juice

I recently had the opportunity to work with Natalie's Orchard Island Juice Company, an all natural juice company our of Florida. I did a modeling project for them with J.Mo studio and created these beautiful shots along the art walk graffiti walls in Rino, Denver. Before I accepted the offer to do a modeling project for Natalie's juice I did some research on the company of course. The company began by a woman with a single vision: to create a bountiful product that was made simply by the best citrus grown in the U.S. Natalie's juice keeps it simple, so there are never more than 5 ingredients in each juice,…

  • Sweat Log

This past week was a little bit slower than the previous week for my workouts. I worked a lot and was on my feet all day everyday, and as a result my workouts were not as intense because I was physically and emotionally exhausted. Nevertheless I still gave it my all and hustled to break a sweat. Here is what I did: Monday: ATO workout I only had one hour to workout so I made the most of it! I did a full body workout that left me out of breath and sweating in about 45 minutes. 4 Sets total: 10 calorie assault runner treadmill heavy carry (w/ 20lb dumbbells)…

  • Kale Lemon Pistachio Salad

I love a good summer salad. Actually I am obsessed. When it's so hot outside I stay away from cooking indoors and tend to try to load up on fresh fruits and veggies. Any time I can make an excuse for adding various fruits and vegetables AND nuts into my salad, I am into it. Plus a little bit of fresh squeezed lemon?! Yes please. Whenever I go to the grocery store and day dream about all of the delicious recipe possibilities there are out. And I often find myself lost in the produce isle on Pinterest looking at recipe ideas. Anyone else? I feel like it is my life…
